What makes us different
We are like other agencies and yet we are different.
So, let's unpack that statement and explain more fully why working with Vividink is a very different experience.
Firstly, experience. We have a wealth of experience in the comms disciplines, we have experience of working in both agency environments and clients side. Our team regularly adds appropriate qualifications to backstop their experience and we all undergo continuous professional development to ensure that we are up to date, skilled and capable. And, we have been around for 22 years, so we're established, we're well-practised in our specialisms, and we have a significant track record.
Secondly, ethics. Yes, I know, an ethical pr agency is something of a rarity but what do we mean by ethics? Our rates are based upon what we know it will take to deliver the services required. We don't buy-in and sell on. We employ all of our team which means that as we get to know you and your business, you will get to know them. We are honest, we will tell you what is and isn't possible, what you can expect and what your part of the deal requires for us to deliver the results you need.
Finally, we are a fun team, our clients rapidly become trusted friends and vice versa.
So, let's meet the team...
I have worked in marketing and comms since my first role at Maersk Line in 1986, since then I've held comms roles. Around 20 years ago I set up an agency because I was frustrated with how the agencies I was using at the time operated and how they had built-in costs that added no value to me, the customer.
Since then we have grown, split into stand alone, discipline specific businesses and now Vividink focuses on pr and social media with a purpose, working in the events, exhibitions glamping, timber and environmental sectors.
I'm a great lover of the outdoors, which is why we are based in the heart of the Peak District National Park, technology means location has no bearing on how well we can service our clients, and the reduced overheads also mean we can deliver so much more value for our clients' budgets.
Outside of work I love riding my mountain bike, canicross with Ernie the House Wolf, I paddleboard and windsurf when I can get to the coast, and when the weather is bad I tinker with old VWs in the garage - the current project is a beach buggy.
I finished my A-Levels in 2019 and went on to work as an administrator at my family's steel stockholding business for a year. Whilst working there I was commissioned to do an oil painting for a businessman, named Darren Pollard, who found me via Instagram. The painting now hangs in his studio accommodation in Victoria, Australia.
I quickly decided that admin wasn't for me and put my creativity to use by starting an apprenticeship at Vividink in January 2020. Since then I have been partaking in a vast amount of online CPD courses, including Hubspot accredited courses. They have increased my knowledge in all aspects of social media and marketing, and I thoroughly enjoy it!
Besides painting, I have a long-lived passion for horses and riding, which has pushed me to take part in several ridden and in-hand competitions in the past.
After reading English and Creative Writing I embarked on my career - in the sense of rapidly moving from one place to another - and developed my skills as a croupier, technical author, multimedia author, web developer, graphic artist, 3D artist, PHP & python programmer, and touchscreen kiosk developer. Specialisation is for insects.
For the last 9 years I have been writing and editing news and copy at Vividink, devising and managing content for every aspect of our clients' campaigns and communications activity, ensuring its accuracy and exactitude. I've managed Vividink's business automation systems, designing them to enable us to work together smoothly and efficiently wherever we are.
When I'm not writing, editing or producing content, I enjoy tinkering with microprocessors, architectural visualisation in 3D, programming, drone photography, wild camping, and the company of beer, friends and animals.
