Confex 2020

A day at Confex 2020 has been in the diary for some time, the past two years we have been thwarted by snow, one of the perils of living and working in the heart of the Peak District so we were determined to be there for the 25year anniversary show.

Georgia and I hit the road early with a diary full of meetings and content to check out, leaving just enough time to check out the exhibitors at Confex and EPS. As soon as we hit ExCeL London we split off to cover as much as the show as possible, I had a set of meetings lined up with editors of Mash's key titles, EIN and Stand Out Magazine, all interspersed with client and prospect meetings (at some points it almost felt like a relay race, being passed from one contact to another as I walked the halls!).

Always keen to see and experience new things in social media, Georgia, had a hit list of content she intended to see, a quick comment from her LinkedIn post after the show communicates everything that she felt about the show, "Really insightful hearing from Emma Watkinson, CEO and co-founder of SilkFred.com, at International Confex 2020 yesterday. An interesting spin on events not necessarily having to take place physically, but also in the form of ‘creating moments’ on social platforms.

It was great to hear the journey of how SilkFred began and has grown over the years, remaining transparent and honest to their customers throughout their expansion.

Working within social media myself, I love hearing how companies and brands value this tool. Silkfred, like many other fashion start ups, was born on social media and their customer loyalty and experience is very much defined by their social output. It was refreshing to hear how in a society where social media can potentially destroy the art of communication, SilkFred is managing to utilise this tool to create more personal and unique customer experiences."

All in all a very successful day, a. bit of a long and snowy trip home but well worth the time and effort, we may even be back with a presence at the show in 2021 - watch this space!
